He walked again
In a crowded street
People came
They saw in him difference
Yet he smiled with modest indifference
He jumped a little
He felt the clouds
He stooped a little
He felt he was drowning
He jumped from beneath, again
He reached the ground

He sat in a shop
With many merry people around
He discussed, debated & then declared
‘I must leave – there’s more to see!’
People followed him
Begging him to please stay on
They nudged
Pulled at his sleeve
And brought him under
He jumped from beneath, again
He reached the ground

He stood in a corner
Watching people go by
Some he did know
And some he didn’t know
Impulse and Introspection
He befriended
Yet he stood alone
Shadows spoke to him
Darkening his home
He jumped from beneath, again
He reached the ground

He saw a stream
He ran for the stream
The closer he went, further it got
Illusion had come
It broke him down
Shattered, several pieces on the ground
Layer over layer
Sand and stone
He jumped from beneath, again
He reached the ground

Rhyme and reason
Came Revolution
A cult created
A culture lost
He smiled
The moon was bright
And the light of life
Gave him wings of words
He jumped from the ground
He soared
One with the tune
As I watch him from the ground!
